I'm not in today so please follow this:

Find a group to work with, no more than 4 to a group.
We will continue the movie on Thursday, but remember, we have a quiz on Thursday about the characters, who they are and which family they belong to.

Here is your assignment.

Romeo and Juliet – Group Assignment Grade 9

Due: June 20th

Directions:

Choose a scene from Romeo and Juliet.  Translate the text using modern language (This means you can use everyday language, gangster language, Southern U.S. accent, British Accent etc. )  as it would sound in today’s world.  Present the scene to the class in a live performance or recorded video.

Guidelines:

Divided into groups

Length – 3-10 minutes

All members must have lines to say and present them (yes, you may use paper to read from, however, please try to memorize your lines as best as possible because it presents better).

One copy to be handed in to Mr. Boyd with everyone’s signature of a translated version of the scene you and your group are presenting. 

Please write down the Act and the scene your group will be performing at the top. Make sure you are not doing the same scene as another group. 

It is very important to know where each character will move, so make sure you are able to coordinate your movements on stage.

You will be given two classes to work on this project May 23^rd and June 1st 

April 20th

For tomorrow's class,

Answer the following questions from your classmates:

1.  Why did Circe help Odysseus?
2. Why did Hermes give Odysseus Moly?

Read about book 11 (The blue part) on page 928
Read the assignment I handed out in class.  Come with your questions ready.

April 17th

Today's class was an absolute disappointment because of how many of you didn't do your reading.  I asked for you all to pre-read book 10 which only 4 of you did.  This is not acceptable!  I'm going to have a quiz on book 10 Thursday!

There are only 2.5 months left, now is not the time for summer vacation!

April 14th

For Monday - Complete Book 9 and pre-read book 10 in the Odyssey.

We will begin reading Romeo and Juliet on Monday!  Be prepared to act out scenes!

April 11th

Due this Friday,

Re-do the quiz with the correct answers.

Make sure you have read up until page 900.  Get ready to discuss in groups as to what has happened in the story!

April 7th

Study the concepts you wrote today in class.  These are the main concepts you will be responsible for Monday because you will have a quiz.

Also read the first 3 pages of 'The Odyssey' and read Romeo and Juliet to page 6.
